DOWNES Crediton Golf Club seniors played a 1-2-3 team competition on Monday, November 5 and with a packed field it was the team of Peter Caston, Tom Berry and Roger Field who took top prize with a fantastic score of 84 points.
Their score beat Roger Gratton, Hugh Fernyhough and Graham Pateman who finished second with a brilliant score of 79 points while the team of Tom Pettifer, Paul Fricker and Cyril Dawes finished third with a score of 77 points.
Sue Barr, Sue Bonner and Shirley Stunell finished in first in last week’s ladies competition, a Texas Scramble, held on Thursday, November 9. They shot nett 80 to beat the team of Joe Coe, Joyce Gilg and Doreen Warren who shot a nett 83 to finish second while Rickey Pawsey, Fran Shrubsole and Jill Yates finished third with a nett 86.
It was Shaun Cross who won this year’s Poultry stableford on Saturday, November 10 with a brilliant score of 40 points to win overall and Division Two.
He was followed by Kate Cornish who finished second in Division Two with 38 points, while in Division One it was Tim Keehner who also scored 40 points.
Tim was followed by Adam Hull who scored 38 points and in Division Three it was David Bunclark who finished top with a score of 37 points with Mark Dafters finishing second with a score of 36 points.
