SOME of the Crediton and Copplestone PUMA Martial Arts squad were proud to receive medals at the recent PUMA National Championships held in Swindon.

The team, who were led on the day by Sarah Powlesland III Degree Black Belt, took part in a number of disciplines.

Sarah said: "Our Juniors took part in musical forms, bo-staff, high kick, traditional forms and free sparring in front of a packed venue at the National event.

"We also had our senior grade ladies attend who took part in both traditional patterns (forms) and sparring.

All the local squad that attended, secured at least one gold silver or bronze medal so it really was a brilliant result for all our students as well as the schools.

She added: "We really do have a brilliant group of friendly people that train with us and its a real pleasure to see our students all doing so well.

"I hope their families and friends are as proud as their instructor and I am!"

The Crediton and Copplestone members train regularly in the local area under the guidance and leadership of Dave Powlesland IV Degree Black Belt Instructor.
