SWIMMERS from the Crediton and District Swimming Club (CDSC) have been putting all their training to the test during the last couple of months.
There have been some great swims and some great successes from club members of all age groups.
On September 23, eight swimmers from the Club travelled to the Plymouth Life Centre to compete in the Exeter Sprint Meet.
Many of the Club’s swimmers achieved personal best times in a variety of events, and the Club came away with three bronze and one gold medal.
A week later on September 30, members of the Club were again competing, with younger swimmers representing Crediton at the Tiverton Sparkler event, at the Exe Valley Leisure Centre, and coming away with three gold, two silver, and four bronze medals, another fantastic performance.
On the same date, two of the Club’s Masters swimmers (aged 25 years and over) were competing at the Swim West Masters at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre in Weston-super-Mare.
October saw CDSC swimmers again competing at the Plymouth Life Centre, in an Exeter Level 2 Meet, and also at the Swim England National Masters Championships in Sheffield.
The National Masters Championships were set over three days and had more than 1,400 competitors from across the UK.
With three Club swimmers at the Championships, Darren Beer swam out of his skin, and won one bronze and two gold medals, a fantastic achievement.
