THE final of the Exeter and East Devon Cup on Wednesday, May 4, will be an evening that some Queen Elizabeth’s School Year 11 boys will never forget.
Playing at Exeter City’s St James’ Park, with unbelievable support from nearly 300 supporters from both QE and Tiverton, the atmosphere was simply electric.
Expectations were high, as students and teachers alike watched from the stands in anticipation.
The performance that the QE boys delivered was, without doubt, the best team performance that they have ever achieved.
After a frantic first 20 minutes, both teams were matching each other in every position. However this was all set to change when a through ball from Ross Dickinson was met by Callum Vanstone who slotted a fantastic finish.
To be 3-0 up at half-time was exactly what the supporters had turned up for.
The QE team performance went from strength-to-strength with two more superb finishes from Ross Dickinson in the second half.
The quality of the football was truly outstanding and as the game finished at 5-0 against the current county champions, the boys concluding their time at QE with a memory they will cherish forever.
