DURING the hundred plus years of its existence Exeter City AFC Limited has issued shares a number of times and many people bought them, usually in small numbers.
The Club has the name of just over 200 individual shareholders on its Register but over the years it has lost touch with some of them.
The club is now making a real effort to find all the Club’s missing shareholders and is asking for the public’s help.
Missing shareholders fall into two categories – those the club knows to have died whose shares were not transferred and those who have moved where the club does not have their current address. In quite a few cases the club has no address at all.
Do you own or do you think someone in your family once owned shares in the Club?
Are you the heir or executor of a deceased shareholder? Can you provide the club with an up-to-date address?
Any information that you can provide would help the club to make the Register as accurate as possible and more importantly enable it to fully engage with every shareholder who was sufficiently motivated once-upon-a-time to buy a stake in the Club.
Don’t worry if you can’t provide the original share certificate (though it would be nice if you could) as the club will provide a simple form of indemnity to sign to enable the transfer to take place.
