CREDITON Youth U12’s started last week with their first taste of 11v11 football on the main pitch at Lords Meadow.
An entertaining game against Culm Sampford saw the home side edge a 2-1 win, Rhys Ebdy grabbing the winner with a fine solo run and finish after Zach Mildon had scored Credy’s first.
The U9’s went down 2-1 away at West Hill, with Archie Crosbie getting their consolation goal.
A busy Sunday saw the U8’s host the Kirton Cup, another mini tournament at Lords Meadow.
Luckily, the forecasted rain stayed away, and another fine morning of football took place, with Cranbrook beating Ivybridge in the final.
The U12 girls played their last fixtures of the season. Crediton fielded two sides and played games against both Newton Fire and Stoke Hill. Results on the day saw two wins, a draw and one defeat for the Crediton girls.
It was an emotional day at Stoke Hill, as the U16 girls played not only their final game of the season, but as youth players, before many move on to the newly formed Crediton ladies team.
They went out in style with a 6-1 victory, goals came from Maddie Taylor with two, Ellen Barrow, Chloe Hartrey, Talitha Roche and Jess Vodden.
This side was the first girls side formed back in 2016, when girls football returned to Crediton Youth.
Special thanks must go to everyone who has been involved with this very successful side during the past six seasons.
