CREDITON Reserves travelled to league rivals Winchester for an eagerly awaited Cup tie on Saturday, October 8.

The pre-match hype of a close game never materialised as the visitors put in their best display of the season so far to make it five wins on the spin.

After a cagey start Mike Broome scored a volley from the edge of the box to put the visitors one up.

Creddy doubled the lead when an excellent left wing cross from Pidgeon was horribly missed by Matt Moo Kingdom from six yards but Badham was on-hand to tuck home.

The lead was stretched to three when excellent build play led to Matty Holland sweeping home an excellent finish from 22.5 yards.

Winchester almost scored but a 20-yard free kick was superbly tipped around the post by Keast.

At the start of the second half Winchester built up some pressure but this evaporated on 55 minutes when, after an ugly lunge from Danny Harvey, the home player reacted by pushing Danny to the floor and grappling with his face. Luckily Broom was on-hand to save his brother-in-law from a hiding.

Pidgeon made it four with a postage stamp finish with Badham then making it five with a curler from the edge of the box.

Winchester went down to nine on 70 minutes when a horrible stamp on Nigel Thomas saw a straight red.

Tom Jordan completed the scoring with a chubby chip over the stranded ‘keeper.
