ALTHOUGH the first weekend in October, it was more like a summer's day with bright sunshine falling on Blagdon. This led to some good handling moves.

During the first half, Crediton, playing down the hill, pushed forward. David Gray, starting on the wing, was impressive, fielding well under the high ball and launching attacks along with full-back Adam Stanbury.

However, it was Sharks who broke the deadlock when good chasing after a kick ahead saw the Plymouth side touch down to score a try which was converted. As well as some good handling, the game was marked by strong defensive performances.

Bobby Jenkins, playing on the Kirton wing, showed that the previous week's tackling display was not a one off.

Also, blindside flanker Niall Davies-Hale was on hand to pounce on any loose balls on his side of the set piece.

Crediton's pack as a whole stuck to the task in hand, with hooker Rob Lancaster taking at least two scrums against the head.

A well-worked driving maul following a lineout in the Shark's 22, saw Crediton's Man of the Match, George Stone, crash over the line.

As the game headed deep into the fourth quarter, Sharks were caught offside as Crediton pushed forward once again.

Centre Barrie Karea stepped up to take the kick which sealed the game for the home side.
