CREDITON Running Network is a small, friendly, running sports club which welcomes runners of all abilities.
Whether you are new to running or can already run a marathon, Crediton Running Network says it is all about taking part in something you enjoy with a group of likeminded friendly people.
Crediton Running Network, or CRN as it is known by its members, was founded in 2011.
Crediton had previously never had an all-inclusive running club.
Many people ran on their own and those more ambitious runners travelled to other areas.
Permission was granted for the club to use the seal of Crediton and local colours of black and gold or yellow were chosen. A committee was formed, a constitution was written, and they were off!
CRN soon began to recruit members and to run beginners running courses. More people trained as leaders and a few as coaches.
As with many organisations, Covid and the resultant restrictions has taken its toll on CRN, now more than 10 years old.
It is, however, back up and running and hoping to re-establish itself as the vibrant active club it has always been with a variety of routes each week to suit all abilities.
Club nights are Mondays and Wednesdays, 6.30pm to 7.30pm, with three to four mile routes and five-mile routes on Mondays.
Wednesdays are Fitness or Running sessions.
