THE Sparkle Warriors, the local group of people which, for the second year running, took part in the annual Dragon Boat race on Exeter Quay to raise much needed funds for Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT), says it has raised £1,579, to-date, after taking part this year.

The group raises funds for DAAT in memory of Samuel Crocker (10), who was knocked over and died following a “hit-and-run” on February 28, 2015, in Threshers in Crediton.

With this incredible sum, fundraising and donations has raised more than £34,500 in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust in memory of Samuel to-date.

Last year the Sparkle Warriors raised £640.

The team is an eclectic mix and includes staff from Crediton Hospital, Chiddenbrook Surgery, VirginCare/Children’s Services (school nurses), Crediton Scout leaders, Landscore and ex-Landscore mums and dads and a number of children.

Sara Fox, the team captain, said the group was proud to have raised so much money this year and added that if anyone would like to donate, they can do so online at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sparklewarriors17 .
