MEMBERS of the Crediton and Copplestone PUMA (Professional Unification of Martial Arts) Taekwon-Do Group recently returned from National Championships with a haul of medals.

Their instructor Dave Powlesland said: “We had a number of our group attend the events, taking part in sparring, high kick and traditional Taekwon-Do-do patterns, plus those who were eligible also doing bo-staff weapons patterns.

Dave and his team train in Newton St Cyres, Copplestone and Crediton weekday evenings and Sunday mornings.

He has run the local schools for more than 15 years.

Dave added: “To see our members receive these medals is worthy acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication the team put into their training.

“To be part of their martial arts journeys and work alongside such fantastic people is absolutely fantastic.”
