THE weather conditions were perfect on Bank Holiday Monday, May 6, for the eighth annual Charity Clay Shoot at Higher Chilverton Farm, Coldridge.

This brought a good turnout and as well as the job of shooting the most number of clays and aiming to take home one of the many generous prizes, it was also a great social occasion.

A barbecue and tea tent were on-hand to provide refreshments.

For those less experienced, there was a novice stand and an opportunity to “have-a-go”, which was great for a few up-and-coming youngsters and adults!

The winner of the AA/AAA class was A Heard. The Open winner was M Yeandle with 2, C Baker and 3, G McCloud.

Winner of the Ladies category was K Brown who achieved a superb score of 46, watch this space for this very talented lady!

Winner of the Novice category was C Rowberry.

A good sum of money was raised for the Coldridge Village Hall, which is undergoing refurbishment at present.

The Chairman of the village hall committee, Margaret Burrows thanked all the team who helped to put on the event and run it on the day.

Also a special “thank you” went to Dave and Marion Turner who did a huge amount of work behind the scenes.
