A CHARITY Walking Football Tournament will be held on Sunday, September 4 at the astroturf pitches at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre in Crediton from 2pm to 6pm.

The tournament will be held in aid of Crediton Foodbank and will consist of eight teams.

The teams will play four quarter-finals, the winners going on to the semi-finals and then the final which will be held at 5pm.

There are currently six confirmed teams but two more are needed to make it up to eight. Local businesses would be welcomed to enter a team.

The matches will be six-a-side and last for 40 minutes.

Squads can have up to 10 players with rolling substitutes.

The day is intended to be both a fundraiser for Crediton Foodbank and an awareness raiser for the new Springboard project associated with the foodbank.

The tournament is being actively supported by both Crediton Football Club and Lords Meadow Leisure Centre.

The Football Club will provide a barbecue and bar facilities for the afternoon. This will be the perfect opportunity to watch some ageing local superstars showcase their skills, all performed at no more than a trot!

If anyone would like to enter a team please email: [email protected] or telephone 01363773650.

Each team will be expected to contribute £50 to the donation fund.
