THREE pupils from Chulmleigh Academy attended the South West Schools Pistol Competition at Leweston School, Sherborne, on Wednesday, October 11.

Taking part were Freddie Barlow from Year Six, Rebecca Pulford from Year Seven and William Barlow from Year Eight.

They competed as individuals, and made up a team in the Junior Section, where there were more than 50 competitors.

The Chulmleigh Academy Team did amazingly well, coming third and winning Bronze.

The competition involves shooting a .177 air pistol, from 10 metres, to a small target with five shots per target, and four targets - so consistency and focus are crucial.
