THE sun shone bright on the opening day of the outdoor bowling season at North Tawton Bowling Club.
Club president Mike Thwaites commented: “The green was in a perfect condition thanks to Rob Arscott and Dave Cooper and team, and it played well and true.
“The grounds and surrounding flower beds looked as good as ever thanks to chairman John Kinsey for organising the members with their painting, washing, tidying and weeding over the last few months.”
Mike Thwaites was called upon to open the season by bowling the first wood.
The day ended with drinks in the clubhouse.
Mike added: “There is a great atmosphere in the club at the moment and let us hope the results and the coming season reflect this.
“The season starts in earnest with league and friendly matches.
“Club Night is on Mondays from 5.30pm for a 6pm start. All are welcome to come along and give us a try.”
