AS the season draws to a conclusion so many competitions are being completed and with it are coming the success stories for Crediton Bowling Club.

The Mens Over 60s A team has won the A Division of the Exeter Over 60s League.

What makes the achievement remarkable is that this is the first time this century that the club has won this title.

The team went through the whole season undefeated and beat their closest rivals by more than 30 points.

The B team finished fourth in Division Four, missing out on promotion by nine points and the C team finally put any chance of relegation behind them by finishing seventh in Division Six.

Another success was Mark Theedom, Karen Theedom and Trevor Newbery winning the County Burma Star Triples.

Having won the Section Four title the trio defeated a team from Honiton in the quarter finals and then this past Sunday won the overall title.

In the semi-final they defeated a Plymouth trio 19-14 and then in the final overcame a Starcross side 19-15.

This weekend sees the end of the bowling season with nearly all the individual competitions being played to a conclusion.

There will be plenty of bowls to watch at Newcombes Meadow all day Saturday and Sunday morning.

To finish the season there is an internal match amongst members on Sunday afternoon and after that it will be time for the ground staff to begin their work preparing the green for next season.
