CREDITON and Copplestone Junior Taekwon-do and Little Puma’s team recently returned from the PUMA (Professional Unification of Martial Arts) Taekwon-Do Junior Championships with a haul of medals.

Dave Powlesland who runs the local Taekwon-Do Schools at Crediton, Copplestone and Newton St Cyres said the PUMA Junior Championships was a very successful event for his schools.

The team, which was coached on the day by Sarah Powlesland (III Degree Black Belt), brought home a whopping 12 gold, silver and bronze medals.

Sarah said: “Our team were brilliant. It is so rewarding for us as instructors to see our students put into practice what we teach and I am sure all the parents were as proud of the team as I know I am.

“To be able to coach and support our next generation of champions is great.

“I was really lucky to have had the opportunities I did when I was growing up from PUMA and Taekwon-Do, so to now be able to support and help others with the same sort of opportunities is fantastic.
