MEMBERS of a Crediton Aquafit Group which meets at Active Mid Devon’s Lords Meadow Leisure Centre in Crediton have said happy birthday to one of the regular group members.

Brenda Fletcher was 95 on Thursday, August 7 and after the class that day some of the members stayed for coffee and cake in the Dive-in Cafe.

She was presented with flowers and cards before everyone sang Happy Birthday.

Brenda has been a regular at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre since it opened on December 1, 1990.

She previously taught swimming at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crditon and also ran swimming courses at the Leisure Centre.

Brenda is well-known locally for her work for cancer charity, Macmillan and belongs to two local art groups.

For many years she completed the bookwork for MRS, now The Bike Shed.

She has three daughters and five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter which she met for the first time on her birthday.
