PICTURED (centre) is Edna Beasley, of YEOFORD WI who made the winning Aztec doll which won Yeoford the challenge cup at the Creedy Group autumn meeting held at Sandford parish hall. On the left is Daphne Evans, president of Crediton WI and on the right is Jane Bailey, who judged the competition. Daphne Evans welcomed members from seven institutes, from Cheriton Fitzpaine, Yeoford, Sandford, Puddington and Black Dog, Poughill, Morchard Bishop and Crediton. After the business she welcomed two speakers, Anne Davies and Aileen Wills, who gave a most interesting and illustrated talk on their visit to Peru to study Aztec culture. Second place in the competition was taken by Cheriton Fitzpaine and third by Crediton. Morchard Bishop and Sandford came a joint fourth. The competition was judged by Jane Bailey of Newton St. Cyres.
