ON a warm evening Dunsford, batting first, made a solid start to their innings after some good bowling from C Stanbury and P Leach.

Then the runs came with the batting of R Watson and M Drake, who put on 97 for the first wicket.

The 100 came up in the 14th over and Dunsford looked set to make a big total but some good bowling from C Collins in the final overs kept the score down to 121.

Yeoford made a slow start to their innings, scoring 11 off the first five overs and then slumped to 30 for five.

With Yeoford struggling, a partnership of 46 between P Leach and A Coren got their innings back on track.

Needing to score 20 off the last four overs, Yeoford looked to have a chance. Dunsford brought back R Thomas and P Corruthers, who took three wickets each.

Yeoford lost their last four wickets for six runs and fell 14 runs short.

YEOFORD V TEDBURN

Yeoford 105-9 - P Leach 15, P Coren 26 ret, C Collins ret, S Moss 2-15, M Allison 3-8, D Rich 2-21.

Tedburn 106-2 - D Rich 26 ret, A Williams 28 ret, M Allison 18, C Collins 1-20.

Batting first Yeoford made a good start to their innings, scoring at five runs an over. Then Tedburn bowler Mark Allison came on and took the wickets off three of the top four batsmen.

A partnership of 40 between P Coren and C Collins got Yeoford's innings back on track. Yeoford lost wickets regularly and ended their innings at 105 for nine.

An opening stand of 32 between R Crang and M Allison set Tedburn on their way to victory.

At 50 for two from nine overs Tedburn never looked in trouble. Some good batting from A Williams (28) and D Rich (26), saw Tedburn home with two overs to spare.

In the Buckley Cup Sticklepath made a good start to their innings, scoring at a good rate, but losing the odd wicket.

At 54 for two from seven overs, Sticklepath looked on for a big score. Then C Stanbury came on to bowl and took three wickets in his first over and with two more wickets falling, Sticklepath found themselves 64 for two.

Some late big hitting came from L Bradbury and Sticklepath were all out for 107.

Yeoford made a good start to their innings, with a flurry of boundaries from Paul Leach and at 50 for three off 10 overs, Yeoford looked well on target.

A partnership of 38 between P and A Coren got Yeoford within touching distance. Then there was a sudden collapse of wickets and Yeoford lost their last six wickets for 13 runs and were all out in disappointing defeat.

Hatherleigh got off to a flying start in this Buckley Cup game with a rapid 25 from B Harris.

With the score on 40 after five overs, Hatherleigh seemed set for a big score. Then three wickets from Paul Leach in as many overs and wickets from P Dennis stemmed the flow of runs.

A partnership of 40 off the last four overs between R Fishleigh and C Neilson pushed the Hatherleigh total up to 144 from 20 overs.

Yeoford made a good start to their innings with some good batting from T Courtney and 48 for three off six overs. Yeoford were then in a good position and a partnership of 40 between Paul Coren and C Collins took the score up to 89 off 12 overs.

Then Yeoford lost wickets and the runs slowed up. Needing 40 off the last four overs and despite some good batting from A Coren and J Saunders, they fell eight runs short of this total.
