YEOFORD'S first game of the new season was played at Dunsford on May 6.

Yeoford, batting first, lost an early wicket, in partnership of 32 between C Stanbury and T Courtney got Yeoford's innings back on track.

With 44 from P Coren who added 70 for the third wicket and 100 coming up in the 16 overs, Yeoford were set for a large total.

A quick fire 35 from C Collins in the last four overs, Yeoford ended their innings on 145 for three.

Batting second, Dunsford were chasing 145 and always looked difficult but they made a good start with 60 coming off the first 10 overs.

Tight bowling from M Leach and D Coren in the middle of the innings kept the runs down. With Dunsford falling behind the run rate Dunsford fell 38 runs short.

Yeoford 128 - 8, P Leach 26no, N Allport 16, M Leach 14, C Allison 2-13, A Williams 2-20.

In Yeoford's first Buckley Cup game of the season Tedburn got off to a flying start with Mark Allison hitting a rapid 26 and 28 from Matt Wood.

Tedburn were well on their way to a big score then with two wickets in two balls from Neil Allport, Yeoford clawed their way back into the game.

With further wickets from P Leach and P Dennis, Tedburn's innings ended 128 for six.

Yeoford's innings also got off to a good start with some big hitting from P Leach with the first wicket falling at 37 after five overs.

Then Yeoford had a mini collapse losing two wickets in five balls from the bowling of C Allison.

Yeoford rebuilt from the batting of M Leach and N Allport. Edging nearer the total and losing wickets along the way, the innings got down to the last over.

Needing two off the last ball Yeoford scrubbed through for the two runs to secure a draw in a very exciting game.

Yeoford 128 - 5, M Leach 33, P Coren 31, D Coren 11no, M Foan 1-17, J Cutler 1-14.

Cheriton made a good start to their innings with an opening stand of 55 off six overs between E Taylor and W Carr.

Then with some tight bowling and wicket taking, deliveries from G Cochran and P Leach slowed the run rate.

With eight runs scored off the last two overs, Cheriton ended on 127 for six.

Yeoford also made a good start to their innings with some big hitting from M Leach with the 50 coming up in the seventh over.

Yeoford then lost three wickets - 20 runs to slow the run rate down.

A flurry of boundaries from P Coren pushed the score with a touching distance of victory before getting the six runs needed.

Needing six off the last over and then needing one run off the last ball, Yeoford scrumbled through for another exciting victory.
