Hatherleigh, batted first in Yeoford's last Buckley Cup game of the season. They made a steady start but soon accelerated from the batting of J Cherrington who hit a rapid 28 with six fours in the innings before retiring at 82 for one off nine overs.

They looked on for a big total, but Yeoford fought back from the bowling of M Leach and C Stanbury who took six wickets between them with the help of three catches by J Misselbrook.

Hatherleigh were 127 for nine but with retiring batsman J Cherrington and J Barkwell coming back and adding 27 runs off the last three overs they ended their innings on 154 for nine.

Yeoford made a poor start to their innings slumping to 30 for four off eight overs, but recovery was on the way with P Dennis and T Misselbrook putting on 34 for the fifth wicket.

Still behind the run rate, Yeoford continued to heavily score with C Collins and J Blackmore hitting 10 boundaries between them before retiring.

Needing 20 off the last over Yeoford fell 13 runs short making a respectable 141-6.

Heads and Tails 86-9: P Carpenter 17, T Fowls 20no; C Stanbury 3-15, C Collins 2-9, A Coren 1-13.

Yeoford, batting first on the last evening game of the season, lost two early wickets but soon recovered with C Stanbury and J Saunders putting on 38 for the third wicket.

They continued to score freely with J Misselbrook scoring a rapid 32 and then M Leach and S Searle scoring 23 off the last two overs ended their innings on 132 for four.

Heads and Tails struggled to score runs off Yeoford's opening bowlers, T Leach and A Coren and with pressure building they lost wickets regularly.

Some fine catches from J Blackmore and J Misselbrook saw Heads and Tails lose five wickets for two runs in a three over spell from the bowling of C Collins and C Stanbury taking three wickets in five balls.

Heads and Tails batted out their remaining overs with T Fowls and P Kay putting on 35 runs in the final overs to finish the innings on 86 for nine.

Tedburn St Mary v Yeoford

Tedburn St Mary 93 all out: N Lewis 28, M Allison 27, I Barr 21; A Coren 3-12, C Stanbury 2-31, J Misselbrook 2-19, M Leach 2-3.

Yeoford 95 for 3: J Blackmore 34, J Saunders 31; P Rich 1-7, T Skeete 1-6.

On a sunny afternoon, Tedburn batted first and lost three early wickets from the bowling of A Coren. At 22 for three they were struggling against some good bowling from Yeoford but a partnership of 42 between N Lewis and M Allison gave Tedburn some hope.

However, they continued to lose wickets regularly from the bowling of C Stanbury and J Misselbrook and with some good catches Tedburn lost their final wickets for five runs and good bowling off M Leach taking two wickets. Tedburn were all out for 93.

Yeoford's opening batsman found runs hard to score in the early overs from the bowling of N Lewis and H Powell.

Batsmen J Saunders and J Blackmore, then cut loose, scoring runs freely with regular boundaries putting on 65 for the first wicket before J Blackmore was run out for 34.

Yeoford then lost two more wickets before J Misselbrook and C Collins saw they to victory and regain the Sherwood Cup for the first time in four years.
