SATURDAY, June 10, was "Worldwide Knitting in Public Day" and taking part were several knitting groups from the Crediton area which decided to put on an event in Crediton Town Square for people to get together to share knitting and crocheting.
Everyone made squares, some of which will go to the Jo Cox Foundation and some to Knit for Peace, which will make them up into blankets.
Jo Forrest told the "Courier": "We were pleased to see a good number of knitters - some experienced, some trying it for the first time - who enjoyed meeting and making new friends.
"There are now plans to set up a new regular group after this event, possibly meeting at the Crediton Inn."
