The Queen and Prince Philip attended the Devon County Show in May 1995.

The Queen planted a tree and then presented trophies in the main ring.

She also visited the YFC tent and met members of the Young Farmers’ Clubs.

She also received a hamper of local produce during her visit to the Food and Drink Marquee.

A show spokesperson said: ‘We are profoundly saddened by the news of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and join with the entire nation in mourning her loss.

‘Her Majesty has been an inspiration to us all in her many years of commitment and dedicated service to our nation.

‘Her visit to Devon County Show in 1995 is well remembered amongst our stewards as is the deep interest she took in so many people and organisations in her long and full life.

‘We offer our deepest sympathy and prayers to the Royal Family.’
