HOW privileged we are to have such a lovely well kept Churchyard at St Swithun’s, and how even more lucky we are to have such a band of hard working custodians.
I was out on a preamble today and came across Jim and Rita King, Anne Tucker and Jean Hope hard at work.
Mindful of the environment Jim has found a useful recipe for weedkiller: To one gallon of white vinegar add half a cup of table salt and two tablespoons of washing up liquid. Use an empty spray bottle or a watering can with a fine rose spray. Apply when the sun is shining for a safe and effective way of keeping footpaths clear.
