THE ancient tradition of Wassailing will be celebrated at Cheriton Fitzpaine tomorrow (Saturday, January 19), starting at 6.30pm at the Ring of Bells.
Everyone is welcome to attend the event when the apple trees will be blessed for next year’s harvest.
There will be Morris Men, fire eaters, Mummers, a procession to Jack’s Acre, a bonfire, the Wassail Queen and a Green Man.
At 9pm the Woodmen band will perform at the Ringers.
There will be lots of fun at the family-friendly event which is free to enter although donations for cider and apple juice are encouraged to help pay for next year’s event.
visitors are encouraged to wrap up warm and take along anything that makes a loud noise.
