A WARM welcome was given to visitor Paul Truswell when he stopped off at the Crediton Scout Hut at Newcombes.
Paul was taking part in the TrussyTrek 2016 - far east to far west a 555-mile trek from Lowestoft to Land’s End to raise funds for First Hurdsfield Scouts.
He spent some time with the Beavers talking about his trek and encouraging them to walk themselves. He then spent the night in the scout hut ready to continue his trek the next morning.
Paul said: "Staying in a hut is much better then spending another night in my tent!
"The trek which took two years to plan, will take me five weeks to complete.
"I’ve chosen an interesting route from Lowestoft, the furthest easterly point to Cape Cornwall in the far west, but for publicity purposes I will finish at Land’s End because everybody’s heard of that."
He added: "I enjoyed talking to the Beavers to get across what I’m doing and why.
"The folks in Crediton have been very supportive."
