FITNESS enthusiasts are now spoilt for choice at Crediton's Lords Meadow Leisure Centre!
Mid Devon District Council has invested more than £250,000 improving the fitness studios at the leisure centre where it has created an environment designed to promote a healthier lifestyle.
There has been extensive redevelopment of the fitness facilities during the past eight weeks and the results are stunning.
There has been an increase in the floor area and an open plan design has created a fresh, modern, vibrant feel.
There is a wide array of new workout equipment and to showcase the new facilities and equipment, preview events were held during the weekend and prior to the grand opening.
The machines are hi-tech beyond belief and there are facilities to watch many tv channels, check Facebook, Twitter, listen to music, track your progress on apps on your plugged in mobile phone and so much more.
There are x-trainers, adaptive motion trainers and lateral trainers, to name just a few of the machines.
There is also new air conditioning and music facilities and so much more.
There are staff readily on-hand to assist and help users to achieve the results they want.
Leisure Centre spokesperson, Sarah Ford, said: "It has been a long journey to get to this stage but we now have a fantastic facility which everyone is really excited about.
"It has taken a lot of public meetings, consultation and negotiation to get where we are but we now have a solution everyone is happy with.
"We have kept the hall and taken every available inch of space and turned it into a studio.
"There is new kit and spinning facilities and during the open weekend we had free tasters.
"There were member offers and competitions and it was a nice chance for us all at the leisure centre to engage closely with our users.
"I think the best thing has been us seeing the customers faces when they see the new facilities."
Sarah explained that one-to-one inductions and feedback are now standard procedure for all and she added that the spirits of the staff have also been lifted by the nicer facilities and surroundings.
Winner of a year's free Zest membership from the Leisure Centre's Facebook draw was Helen Geatches and John Lewin won six month's free Zest membership from a draw from people who attended the open day.
