THERE is more excellent news for Crediton Queens Badminton Club.
At a recent Open tournament held at Barnstaple there were winners for the club in the Under 11s category for both boys and girls. Rachel Mortimore and Bronya Pike won the girls' competition, whilst Alex Moir and Lloyd Skinner won the boys competition.
These youngsters are amongst a growing list of players from Queens who have been selected to play for Devon. Lloyd and Alex are the numbers one and two for the U11's, Bronya and Rachel are also no's one and two at U11.
Other Devon players are Simon Brassington, who is the Devon no two, Laura Anson, the Devon no four at U17, Hannah Preece, no two at U17 and Mac Powell, who is Devon's U15 no six. Georgia Peters has also been selected to represent her county.
Another success has been Keely Smith and Sophie Rowe, who have won the county round of schools tournament. Congratulations to Keely and Sophie, as well as to all those mentioned above.
Such progress and results could not be achieved without the superb coaching that takes place and there are three new coaches who are helping to do just that – Hannah Preece, Rachel Theedom and Martin Higgins.
A very big "thank you" to them and to everyone who supports the club.
