PUBLIC toilets at the St Lawrence Green in Crediton could face closure if plans by Mid Devon District Council go ahead.
The council is also recommending that it ceases to pay the annual sum of £1,250 to the old Town Hall, Crediton, which has toilets open to the public during the day by partnership arrangement.
Toilet provision by Mid Devon District Council has been subject to a review because of budget restraints.
A review of the current provision of public conveniences took place following the last round of budget setting for 2014-15.
It was identified that a saving of £10,000 was required to meet budget targets for 2015-16.
It is suggested, in a review of public convenience provision being presented to MDDC's policy development group on March 11, that the toilets at St Lawrence Green close and be developed for other purposes.
It states that the toilets are the only facility in Crediton that do not have access for the disabled.
Down St Mary Parish Council is to be asked to make a contribution of £1,250 per annum towards the provision of toilets in the parish at Morchard Road.
Other closures, changes in hours and changes of provision to the 21 public toilets provided by MDDC are also proposed in the review.
