TWO special ceremonies were carried out at a meeting last month of the 1st Cheriton Bishop and Tedburn St Mary Beavers at their Scout hut at Crofters Mead in Cheriton.

Emily Jeffery received the highest award given for Beavers, the Chief Scout’s Bronze Award, from George Davey, Mid Devon Assistant District Commissioner for Scouts.

To achieve this a Beaver has to complete six challenges including teamwork, outdoor, skills and personal challenges.

At the same meeting, eight new Beavers were invested. They were Harry Baxter, Caitlin Bradley, Harry Collins, Edward Durbin, Rhodes May-Gaal, Holly Radford, Taylor Smaldon and William Taylor.

Each received their neckerchief and first set of badges.
