INTERNATIONAL TuTu Day began last year on the auspicious date, the second day of the second month in 2022 and is now celebrated on February 2 every year.
This year people will be gathering on Crediton Town Square again from 4pm-5pm on Thursday, February 2 and there will be tutu making workshops for adults and children before the event, and the opportunity to be sponsored for wearing a tutu for charity.
It is a great opportunity for all ages to enjoy some fun and colour at a dreary time of year.
Last year people wore tutus at work, at nursery, on country walks and in group sea swims!
In Crediton people gathered in the town square for a photo shoot, fun and to show of their tutus.
Most of the shops and cafes around the square had staff wearing tutus and Pippins Nursery and The Turning Tides Project wore them for the day.
TuTu gatherings are easy to organise and can happen anywhere, either with an established group, who decide to make/wear tutus when they meet on or near February 2 or with a group gathered especially for TuTu Day.
Wearing tutus and encouraging fun and laughter, gatherings are organised for an hour or so of fun to make people smile and bring some silliness to the world!
The tutu making workshops will be held on Friday, January 27 upstairs in The Lamb Inn at Sandford from 4pm to 5.30pm and on Saturday, January 28 from 11am to 12.30pm at Crediton Station Tearooms. The workshops are suitable for both adults and accompanied children. Please book in advance (£3 for adults and £2 for children). Text or telephone 07895 185871 for sponsor forms or to book workshop places.
