A GROUP of 11 members of the Trefoil Guild visited Crediton Parish Church for a guided tour of the bell tower to learn more about the "art" of bell ringing.

They were also able to view the church bells, chime barrel and clock.

Those members who made the climb up into the tower were given a most knowledgable tour by Geoff Sparling (tower captain) and his wife Sue, while those members who did not feel able to make the tower climb were given a short introductory history about the church, the clock and the bells. They were also shown some audio visual clips from the bells restoration of 2004 and our local bell ringers in action by Bill Jerman.

Afterwards tea, coffee and biscuits were much enjoyed and Bill, Geoff and Sue were warmly thanked for such a splendid and informative visit.
