THE next meeting of the Mid Devon Tractor, Machinery and Engine Group will be held on Wednesday, January 20 at Morchard Bishop Memorial Hall, starting at 7.30pm.
The speaker will be Mary Phillips (Tractor Mary) who will talk about her “Charity Tractor Drive around Devon”.
The group meets on the third Wednesday of the month and has about 45 to 50 members from all over the district and beyond, who meet to share interests in vintage tractors, machinery and engines (as the name suggests!)
Each meeting includes an illustrated presentation from a guest speaker and subjects covered range from items about the club’s core interests to agricultural, historical or wildlife issues, with a break half-way through for refreshments, which gives an opportunity for socialising.
Meetings run from January to May, with a summer break (peak agricultural time), resuming in September through to December.
There are also working days, when members can demonstrate and exercise their tractors and machinery, as well as an annual club trip, this year to the Kennet and Avon Canal.
Membership costs £10 per year and covers all members of the same family.
Any potential new members would be most welcome to go along and see for themselves or contact the secretary for further details on 01363 84622.
