THE first fundraising event in 2020 in support of the Crediton Parish Church Roof Appeal takes place at the Boniface Centre on Wednesday, February 19, starting at 7.30pm.

It will be welcome back to Alex Leger, who will present an illustrated talk titled "The Solomans - disappearing islands".

Alex is a former producer and director of the well-known BBC programme "Blue Peter".

Born in Exeter, Alex attended Exeter School before doing a year’s voluntary service overseas in the Soloman Islands.

We are sure the talk will be of great interest as in places like the Soloman Islands climate change and especially rising sea levels are of critical concern.

Admission to the talk is £6 and includes light refreshments.
