THERE was giving as well as snatching inside the unfolding drama performed by 15 young people of Crediton Youth Theatre.

"The Snatchers" were a mysterious band of woodland spirits who, like a group of charcoal burners, were eager to keep a future for their beloved forest.

The giving was what the cast gave us.

Here was a show full of song and drama, costume and choreography all within a set that fitted well at one end of the Crediton Church car park.

The energy and commitment of the cast shone through the show.

In doing so they created a wonderful, joyful atmosphere.

I was not alone in feeling delighted that in this small, secluded corner of the town, we felt and enjoyed that we were returning to a well-needed normality.

Many, many thanks to Crediton Youth Theatre. For details of how to be involved please contact Crediton Arts Centre.
