IT was very exciting to watch the Tour of Britain cycle race last Friday. Our family was visiting with us and our eldest grandson, aged nearly three, was thrilled to see the cyclists racing by.  

Our little family were perched outside our property on a remote stretch after North Tawton towards Whiddon Down and each preceding Police outrider was kind enough to respond to our grandson’s enthusiastic waving - some giving a special klaxon toot. 

So I would like to say a grateful thank you to the outriders who really made one little boy’s day so very special.
