THE May Bank Holiday was enjoyed in Coldridge Village Hall with a Tea and Tunes event held in aid of St Matthew’s Church, Coldridge.

The afternoon event attracted an audience of local residents and people who travelled from as far as Newton St Cyres and Crediton.

The musicians who provided the entertainment were some of the finest local folk musicians, Rob Murch, Ed Rennie, Jon Shapley and Colin Munday.

They played a selection of folk songs on melodeons, bodhran and banjo.

Everyone enjoyed listening to the music, drinking tea and, during an interval, enjoyed a cream tea.

A raffle was also held in aid of the church funds and many people enjoyed looking at old local photographs, trying to name some of those caught on camera.

Two of those who went along also enjoyed an impromptu dance to one of the tunes.
