THE next event to raise funds for the Holy Cross Crediton Campaign Roof Appeal will be an illustrated talk by Professor Lynette Mitchell from Exeter University, on Monday, May 14 at 7.30pm.

Taking place in the Boniface Centre, Lynette’s talk is entitled “Cyrus and near Eastern Gardens’ 6th C BC King of Persia”.

Lynette has worked at Exeter University since 1998 and is primarily a Greek historian who works on Greek political history in the period from the archaic period (8th C BC) to the death of Alexander.

She has published numerous books and papers individually and in conjunction with others.

Admission to the talk is £6 and includes light refreshments.

Since the launch of the Holy Cross Roof Appeal, in May 2014, the amount raised to-date is £99,000.
