NATURALIST Kelvin Boot will give a talk at the Boniface Centre, Crediton on Tuesday, March 7, to explain the Living Churchyard Programme.

All are welcome to go along and find out about the plan to further “wild” parts of the churchyard at Crediton Parish Church and how to be part of it.

The programme looks at protecting and increasing biodiversity and restoring balance between us, other species and ecosystems.

As pockets of the countryside become locked within urban areas and as churchyards, as inherently quiet places, can provide a range of habitats that can support a diversity of wildlife.

Three local men recently took part in the Allied Mid Devon project to plant 130,000 daffodils in Mid Devon.

Mark Ruddock, Dave Harris and Marek recently planted more than 2,000 daffodils in the churchyard at Crediton Parish Church in memory of loved ones lost to Covid, and to add a splash of colour and brightness.

The daffodils are now beginning to flower as are the snowdrops and crocuses adding a splash of colour to the churchyard.
