ON Sunday, February 23, Bill Jerman will give an illustrated talk in support of the Devon Historic Churches Trust about things that perhaps you did not know about Crediton Parish Church.

The talk will begin promptly at 2.15pm in the Boniface Centre.

Admission will be free with donations invited in support of the Devon Historic Churches Trust.

Light refreshments will be available.

The talk is not about the long history of the parish church, which is well documented in many other places, but Bill will attempt to cover some more unusual topics such as the sun dial, church clock, churchyard burials, graffiti and less well known memorials in the church, Dart and Francis, church utility supplies and more.

The Devon Historic Churches Trust (registered charity 265594) was founded on January 1, 1973 and is dedicated to help fund repairs and maintenance of places of worship in the Diocese of Exeter and throughout Devon.

In recent years Crediton Parish Church has been fortunate to receive grants from the Trust toward the bells and re-lighting projects and most recently towards emergency tower repairs revealed when the clock dials were taken down to be repainted and gilded.
