CREDITON was proud to receive a Silver Gilt Award at the South West in Bloom Awards Presentation held on October 8.
This is the first year that Crediton has taken part in the Main Competition, so this was a great achievement and would not have been possible without the volunteers supporting Crediton’s entry.

Certificates were also collected for the town’s “It’s Your Neighbourhood” (IYN) entries.
Every participating group achieved either Level 4: Thriving or Level 5: Outstanding — the two highest award levels possible.

Crediton Town Council, which coordinates the town entry said: “This is a remarkable testament to the commitment and passion of our local volunteers who work tirelessly to make Crediton greener, brighter, and more welcoming.
The It’s Your Neighbourhood entries for 2025 included: Crediton Boniface Rotary Club, Crediton and District Lions Club, Friends of Peoples Park Wildlife Garden, Turning Tides Station Tea Rooms, Friends of Post Box Corner, St Lawrence Green Group, Sustainable Crediton Pollinator Group, Friends of Crediton Town Square, Friends of Crediton War Memorial and Crediton Library Community Garden.

To celebrate the successes, Crediton Town Council were delighted to present the community groups with their certificates on Monday, November 3.
A Town Council spokesperson added: “This was a wonderful opportunity to thank each and every volunteer for their enthusiasm and hard work.

“The individual achievements of these voluntary groups truly embody what It’s Your Neighbourhood is all about — recognising the incredible value of our volunteers and the lasting positive impact their projects have on the town as a whole. Congratulations to all involved for helping Crediton continue to bloom!
“We would love to keep the competition growing and getting involved is easy, all you need is a group (even if it’s just two of you!) and an idea for a project. If you would like to take part in the next It’s Your Neighbourhood Competition, please get in touch by email: [email protected] .”
