SHARING ideas and listening was the major part of the first sustainable afternoon at Crediton Library on Sunday, January 19.
Friends of Crediton Library chairman, Paul Vincent, said the core of the idea was a tea party with home-made cakes, as much as possible, where people could turn up and chat over a cuppa.
He had organised the afternoon with Eve Malster who lives in Crediton and is a land-based teacher with Forest School.
They explained this was a by-product of Crediton Town Council’s Climate Change and Sustainability Sub-committee which had provided the inspiration for taking things forward.
Sustainable Sundays would be a regular feature at the Library every third Sunday afternoon of the month.
The Friends of Crediton Library say it would be a family-friendly community think-tank evolving local responses to climate change and sustainability issues. Each event would be on a theme led by an invited guest with a bring and share tea.
