DEVON Air Ambulance has launched the Heart of Devon Summer Appeal 2025, urging residents and visitors to support its lifesaving missions during their busiest time of the year.
With the stunning weather, thousands of locals and visitors flock to Devon’s coastlines, moors, and countryside, the demand for emergency prehospital care surges.
The charity is calling on the community to help fund the critical care teams that respond to emergencies by air and road—often in remote and hard-to-reach areas.
“Summer is our busiest season,” says Courtney Buchanan, Individual Giving Manager at Devon Air Ambulance. “The people of Devon are at the heart of everything we do. Every single donation enables us to reach our patients swiftly in order to provide the critical care they need when every second really does count.”

Alex, Advanced Prehospital Paramedic at Devon Air Ambulance added: “Last year I was part of the crew who were called to help four-year-old Zalan.
“While enjoying a day out with his family Zalan was kicked in the face by a horse at Haytor Rocks on Dartmoor. “A sudden, serious illness or injury like Zalan’s can happen to anyone at any time, and thankfully, we were ready to respond thanks to kind donations from our generous supporters.”
Devon Air Ambulance receives no government funding for its service and relies entirely on public support.
A donation to the charity will help it to:
◦ respond swiftly to emergencies, wherever they might occur
◦ keep their helicopters and Critical Care Cars fully equipped
◦ maintain a full-service roster to keep all shifts fully covered
◦ support their highly trained crew who work tirelessly to save lives.
