LAPFORD and District Horticultural Autumn Show was held on Saturday, September 7 and was well-supported with a superb array of flowers, vegetables and crafts etc.

The Judges were Paul Cleave (cookery), Mary Tasker (floral art and crafts) and Steve Adams (flowers, vegetables and fruit).

Best in Show winner was David Holleys (marrow). Chairman Richard Hassett had the award for the heaviest crop of potatoes, grown in a bucket which weighed in at 7lb 10oz. Eileen Ridd received the trophy for Most Points in the Show.

Section winners were Rebecca Holley (photographs), Joyce Mann (crafts), Sue Briant-Evans (homecraft), Ann Stentiford (floral art), Amanada Bailey (fruit), Jan Parsons (vegetables), Trisha Mumford (flowers) and Sandra Munday (eggs).

Joyce Mann had the best pot plant with a flowering cactus and said it was the first time that it had flowered.
