LOCAL residents are invited to a special Summer ARCH DAY 2022 Celebration at The Crediton Station Tea Rooms with The Turning Tides Project from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, July 9.

On the day, local residents can expect to enjoy activities such as Flower bouquet building, A music session for babies and a community art piece led by Significant Seams hosted in the arch space.

Come rain or shine, there will be something for different ages to enjoy and get involved with the community arch spirit, and people can get to see first-hand what makes these businesses so special.

Created by The Arch Company in collaboration with The Turning Tides Project, ARCH DAY 2022 is a celebration of local businesses who call the railway arches home.

ARCH DAY is a culmination of The Arch Company’s annual #loveyourlocalarches campaign, designed to raise awareness and the profile of their arch customers.

To help The Turning Tides Project to mark the occasion, The Arch Company has provided match-funding, via community action charity Groundwork London, to ensure the day is as successful as it can be.

Abi from The Turning Tides Project said: “It will be a great day for the community with free workshops and a great opportunity for us to share what we do at The Tea Rooms and to show off our menu.”

The programme includes:

10am - 3pm Community “drop in” Art project led by “Significant Seams”. 10am - 3pm Flower arranging “drop in” workshops using the cut flowers grown at the station and in The Turning Tides Project garden.

12 noon – 1pm A help yourself style lunch will be made to sample the menu at £5 per person.

1pm – 2pm Jam Babies music workshop for babies and toddlers based on the trainline with free drinks for the people taking part. 2pm – 3pm Cream teas giveaway to the people who come in and show they have shared the event on their social media.

Created by The Arch Company and working with Network Rail and Transport for London, ARCH DAY is all about encouraging local people to visit their local arches and celebrate their spaces.

ARCH DAY is taking place in numerous urban areas across the country, including Forest Gate, Manchester, Newcastle, Kent and Devon Railway arches are filled with businesses of all kinds: bakeries, breweries and butchers; bars and restaurants; hairdressers and beauty salons; vehicle repairers and MOT garages; makers workshops and even offices or logistics centres.
