CHULMLEIGH Community College is celebrating regionally significant GCSE results, announced in the Secondary Schools’ GCSE Comparison data announced this month.

The 2016 results showed that 82 per cent of the Chulmleigh CC students achieved five A* to C (including English and Maths), 38 per cent achieved English baccalaureate, Progress was judged as Outstanding, 91 per cent achieved A* to C English and 34 per cent achieved A* to A English.

In total, one in four Chulmleigh CC students gained five A* and A grades.

Michael Johnson, Executive Headteacher said: "I am delighted for our students, their parents and my colleagues. We set ourselves a tough target and were naturally pleased to achieve it in 2016.

"Our students will be particularly pleased to read results like this; they are very competitive and encourage each other to do well. I’m glad that so many of them can now follow their ambitions because their qualifications are so strong.

"Achievement and progress for every group of children was excellent.

"We are all working hard at Chulmleigh because we have set ourselves stretching targets for 2017 and beyond."
