THERE is still time to visit this year’s Scarecrow Trail at Sandford, which sees in excess of 40 fun and colourful characters erected in various locations within the village and the Millennium Green.

Running until September 8, the theme is “Heroes and Villains”. Those who take part can keep a look out for “Spiderman”, “Mary Poppins”, “The Fantastic Mr Fox”, “The Wicked Witch of the West” (from the “Wizard of Oz”) and popular with young children, “Supertato”.

Trail maps and guides are available from Sandford Community Stores for £4. There is also a chance to vote for your favourite scarecrow.

After September 8 all correct entries will be entered into a prize draw for cash prizes.

Funds raised this year will go to two fantastic local children’s charities, the Crediton Playscheme and the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
