THIS year’s St Nicholas Fair will take place on Saturday, November 24 in the Boniface Centre, Crediton from 10am to 2pm.

There will be stalls selling Christmas gifts, cakes, jigsaws, CDs and DVDs and a tombola.

There will also be a grand raffle, a draw for a large knitted “clown” and a bidding auction for household and decorative items starting at 12 noon.

Alongside this there will also be stalls run by other local churches with a variety of goods, Bridge Books from Exeter as well as children’s toys, stocking fillers and decorative household goods.

Special for this year, those attending the Fair will have the opportunity to see and purchase OMSHANTI, a two-player game of skill with a magical, “gravity-defying” hook... balls that slide.

The game was invented by Crediton-based Gerry Tomlinson and can be seen via the following website: www.omshantigame.co.uk . So if you love board games, this is the chance to make a unique addition to your collection!

Refreshments will be available throughout the Fair - tea/coffee and cake and after looking around the Fair, stay for the Auction and for lunch! There is an accessible venue with a car park available.

The St Nicholas Fair is an important fundraising event for the church council at Crediton Parish Church which has to raise the money each year to meet the running costs of the church.

This covers everything from purchasing candles and Communion wine to paying the gas and electricity bills and (like all parish churches) paying into the fund at the Diocese which is then used to pay the clergy including the new Rector.

Please go along and enjoy the Fair and support your local Parish Church which is owned by the 12 Governors on behalf of all the townspeople of Crediton.
