Mothering Sunday. Mothers and their families were part of a good congregation for the Mother's Day service at St Michael's Church.

The service was taken by the Prebendary Anthony Geering, a lesson was read by Eve Collins and local LWL John Williams gave the intercession prayers.

Posies of flowers prepared by Helen Powlesland and John Williams were distributed to parents by Poppy Twort. Shirley Gillard was the organist.

Tony and Judith Talbot organised coffee and biscuits and John Williams provided the Simnel cake at the end of service.

Many members of the congregation helped with the refreshments.

There is no service at St Michael's Church this coming Sunday (March 21) because of a joint service with Hittisleigh at St Andrew's Church.

Clean up. The annual clean up of roof gutters was completed recently by Eric Osborne Hodge and Ken Vile, with some loose slates needing to be fixed.

One of the regulars helping with grass cutting (David Pike) is moving away. It someone locally would like to volunteer please contact Ken Vile on 01647 231479.

The PCC is grateful for what David has done in the past few years. We all wish him and his wife health and happiness in their fresh surroundings.
